JEDI Trailblazer Award
Dr. Mark S. Litwin, UCLA Urology professor and chair, received a 2023 UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine JEDI Trailblazer Award. This award recognizes years of commitment embodying leadership and excellence in advancing ideals of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Researchers awarded $3 million to develop AI for prostate cancer
Drs. Leonard Marks and Paul Boutros are part of a team that received an NCI grant to identify novel cancer biomarkers and develop AI that can detect and predict aggressive prostate cancer to help avoid unnecessary treatments.
Dr. Matthew Rettig recognized by VA
Dr. Matthew Rettig, professor of urology, has received the John B. Barnwell Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Clinical Science Research and Development for his significant contributions to prostate cancer research and clinical practice.
Dr. Gritsch joined Living Donor Adventures to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro
Dr. Albin Gritsch, kidney transplant specialist, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with a group of living organ donors to demonstrate that you can still be active and adventurous after donating an organ.
